The General tab
The General tab has three subsections: Noticeboard, Features, and Webmaster Tools.
Noticeboard
In the Dashboard section, Yoast indicates any SEO issues with your content and offers suggestions on how to fix them. Here you will also find the configuration wizard to change your settings.
Functionality
Your plugin does. As the name suggests, this is where you can select the Yoast SEO features you want to use.
For example, if you want Yoast to perform an SEO analysis Country Email List to see how your site will perform, but you don't want to check the readability of your text, you can turn these features on or off, independently of each other.

Other features you can select here are:
XML sitemaps: These are publicly available lists of URLs that search engines can crawl. Yoast SEO will help you generate them automatically.
Ryte integration: Monitors site indexing on a weekly basis for errors. Indexing errors hinder your website's visibility, so this feature is critical to making sure search engines can always find your site.
Security: Useful for limiting the number of people who can make large changes to your site and its structure.
Webmaster Tools
In the Webmaster Tools tab, you can check your site for major search engines.
If you want to verify your website for Google, for example, select the "Google Search Console" link, then copy and paste the code that Google returns to the tab.
Once verified, you will receive feedback on your performance in Google's SERPs.
The Search Appearance tab
The Search Appearance tab affects how your site appears in the SERP. In the General tab of the Search Appearance section, you can customize the appearance of your title (the main heading in the SERP), down to details like the title separator.

You can also change the title and Meta Description of your Google snippet (using snippet variables).
